Recap: Philadelphia Academy Charter Chargers vs. Philadelphia Military Academy Knights
The Philadelphia Academy Charter Chargers put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They beat Philadelphia Military Academy by the very same score they won with last week: 53-29. The result was nothing new for Philadelphia Academy Charter, who have now won four contests by 24 points or more so far this season.
Philadelphia Academy Charter found their leader in underclassman Jordan Benzenhafer, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Benzenhafer has scored at least 25% of Philadelphia Academy Charter's points. Another player making a difference was Jonah Williams-White, who scored seven points.
Philadelphia Academy Charter pushed their record up to 5-0 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.2 points per game. As for Philadelphia Military Academy, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Philadelphia Academy Charter will be home for the holidays to greet Science Leadership Academy at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Science Leadership Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 392nd, while Philadelphia Academy Charter is ranked 133rd). Philadelphia Military Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Girard Academic Music Program at 3:15 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
