Basketball Recap: Wilton/Wing Starts off Right with Win over Westhope/Newburg

Wilton/Wing gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They skirted past the Westhope/Newburg Sioux 68-65.

Despite the loss, Westhope/Newburg still got an impressive performance from Walker Braaten, who went 14 of 24 en route to 31 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Dayton Hawkins, who posted 12 points.

With the loss, Westhope/Newburg broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 1-1.

Wilton/Wing is headed away from home for the first time to take on Flasher at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Westhope/Newburg, they will welcome Kenmare/Bowbells at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
