Flanagan-Cornell has gone 8-2 against Ridgeview recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Falcons will look to defend their home court against the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m.

On Wednesday, Flanagan-Cornell came up short against Tri-Valley and fell 2-0. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Tri-Valley scored at least 17 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-17.

Meanwhile, Ridgeview hadn't done well against Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Mustangs had just enough and edged out the Falcons 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Mustangs have posted against the Falcons since October 22, 2019.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Ridgeview got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 18-25, 27-25.

Ridgeview's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 7-13. As for Flanagan-Cornell, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-8.

Flanagan-Cornell beat Ridgeview 2-0 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
