Volleyball Recap: Maize Comes Up Short

Maize was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Derby Panthers. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

Maize was not able to win a set, but it sure wasn't from a lack of trying: every set was decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 25-22, 27-25.

Maize's defeat dropped their record down to 13-17. As for Derby, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-16-2.

Maize wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 0-0 tie against Haysville Campus on the 14th. As for Derby, after both having extra time off, they and Arkansas City will shake off the rust and duke it out on Tuesday.
