Softball Recap: Lakota Raiders vs. Hopewell-Loudon Chieftains

Lakota suffered their biggest defeat since May 6, 2024 on Wednesday. They came up short against the Hopewell-Loudon Chieftains, falling 17-10. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Chieftains this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-6 on April 7th.

Lexi Moon made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Savanah Vestal, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Lakota now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Hopewell-Loudon, their win bumped their record up to 12-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lakota will venture away from home to square off against Elmwood at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Royals will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last. As for Hopewell-Loudon, they will head out on the road to challenge Old Fort at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
