Xzavior Guess Goes Supernova in El Modena Win

El Modena picked up their sixth consecutive win on Thursday thanks in part to Xzavior Guess. Guess was unstoppable, rushing for 108 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries, while also throwing for 224 yards and a touchdown while completing 83.3% of his passes.

El Modena's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0. Guess and El Modena will head out on the road to face off against Western at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Winning always takes teamwork, but on Friday Eimesse Essis stepped things up a notch to give Tustin the 'W'. Nobody could stop Essis as he rushed for 186 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.5 yards per carry, and also picked up 44 receiving yards.

Unfortunately for Cypress, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Essis. When Essis last faced the Centurions back in October of 2023, he rushed for 135 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry.

Western Comes Up Short Despite Huge Game from Underclassman Chance Thomas

Even if Western couldn't beat Capistrano Valley on Friday, underclassman Chance Thomas still had a big game. Thomas was dynamite, throwing for 331 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.4 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 43 yards.

This year, Thomas has thrown 8 touchdowns (and no picks) while averaging 220.7 passing yards per game.
