Football Recap: Bloomfield Piles Up the Points Against East Catholic

Bloomfield barely beat East Catholic the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Warhawks breezed past the Eagles to the tune of 44-8 on Saturday. The win was familiar territory for the Warhawks, who have now won five games in a row.

Bloomfield's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cameron White, who rushed for 55 yards and two scores, and also threw for 77 yards and one TD while completing 72.7% of his passes. Those two rushing touchdowns gave White a new career-high. Another back making a difference was Romar Heron, who rushed for 91 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 11 carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Bloomfield was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 259 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 207 rushing yards in five consecutive matchups.

Bloomfield's record now sits at 5-2. As for East Catholic, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-3.

Coming up, Bloomfield will take on Lewis Mills at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Warhawks are facing the Spartans at the right time seeing as the Spartans are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for East Catholic, they will square off against Rocky Hill at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
