Basketball Game Preview: Abraham Lincoln Railsplitters vs. Constitution Generals

Two dominant guards in Miguel Rosa Jr and Alantay Dawson are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Abraham Lincoln Railsplitters will be playing at home against the Constitution Generals at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Abraham Lincoln knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Constitution likes a good challenge.

Last Thursday, Abraham Lincoln came up short against Audenried and fell 79-69. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (60), the Railsplitters still had to take the loss.

Despite their defeat, Abraham Lincoln saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jayden Ortiz-Muhammad, who posted 22 points, was perhaps the best of all. The game was Ortiz-Muhammad's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Rosa Jr, who earned 18 points.

Meanwhile, Constitution also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Imhotep Charter by a score of 57-48. While losing is never fun, the Generals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 147th, while the Panthers are ranked 16th).

Abraham Lincoln has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points per game. As for Constitution, they dropped their record down to 10-9 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Abraham Lincoln was able to grind out a solid victory over Constitution when the teams last played back in January of 2024, winning 83-72. Does Abraham Lincoln have another victory up their sleeve, or will Constitution turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
