Recap: Cyprus Pirates vs. Kearns Cougars

The Cyprus Pirates had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Kearns 50-47. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Cyprus has posted since November 21, 2023.

Cyprus got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Amelia Echternkamp out in front who scored 13 points along with three steals. Echternkamp hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Tamila Francis, who scored six points along with five steals.

Cyprus has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. As for Kearns, they now have a losing record at 8-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cyprus will take on Granger at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Granger has now lost 13 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 14. As for Kearns, they will head out on the road to take on Hunter at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Hunter focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 last Friday.
