Baseball Game Preview: George C. Marshall Statesmen vs. Langley Saxons

George C. Marshall is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will host the Langley Saxons at 6:30 p.m.

George C. Marshall couldn't beat Edison on Wednesday even though they stacked five runs on them in the sixth inning. The Statesmen and the Eagles finished up their matchup with a 9-9 draw.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Langley). Their pitchers stepped up to hand Falls Church a 13-0 shutout on Wednesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Saxons as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

George C. Marshall's draw gives them a new season record of 3-2-1. As for Langley, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

George C. Marshall beat Langley 6-2 in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Will the Statesmen repeat their success, or do the Saxons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
