Soccer Game Preview: Four Corners vs. Gateway

The Four Corners Coyotes will venture away from home to square off against the Gateway Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Friday just wasn't the day for Four Corners' offense. They lost 8-0 to East Ridge on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Coyotes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 438th, while the Knights are ranked 187th).

Meanwhile, Gateway's undefeated season came to an end after 12 games on Thursday. They fell just short of Tohopekaliga by a score of 2-1. The loss put an end to the Panthers' undefeated start to the season.

Their goal came courtesy of Augusto Bustamante, who's now up to four this season.

Four Corners dropped their record down to 4-9 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Gateway, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 12-1.

Four Corners might still be hurting after the 8-0 defeat they got from Gateway when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Can Four Corners avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
