Softball Game Preview: Berean Christian Eagles vs. Piner Prospectors

The Berean Christian Eagles will challenge the Piner Prospectors at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Piner took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Berean Christian, who comes in off a win.

Piner will be up against a hot Berean Christian squad: the team just extended their winning streak to six. Berean Christian put the hurt on Pittsburg with a sharp 16-5 win last Tuesday.

Olivia Kundysek and Alissa Jones did most of the damage at the plate: Kundysek went 4-for-5 with four runs, four RBI, and two doubles, while Jones went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Isabella Tafoya was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two triples and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Berean Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.

Meanwhile, Piner came up short against Cloverdale on Tuesday and fell 4-1. The Prospectors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Piner saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Briana Sanchez, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Berean Christian's victory was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. As for Piner, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.
