Softball Game Preview: Chatham Panthers vs. Catholic Central Crusaders

The Chatham Panthers will take on the Catholic Central Crusaders at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Chatham is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Fonda-Fultonville a 12-0 shutout. Winning may never get old, but the Panthers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Catholic Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. Everything went their way against Watervliet on Tuesday as they made off with a 21-0 victory. That 21 run margin sets a new team best for the Crusaders this season.

Chatham pushed their record up to 15-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Catholic Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.
