Football Game Preview: Garinger Wildcats vs. South Mecklenburg Sabres + How To Watch

The Garinger Wildcats will face off against the South Mecklenburg Sabres at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Garinger has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since August 22.

On Friday, Garinger had to suffer through a 66-21 loss at the hands of Hopewell. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 342nd, while the Titans are ranked 163rd).

The match pitted two dominant backs against one another in Zykerion Pharr and Zac Jones. Jones had a great game and rushed for 225 yards and two scores on only 15 carries. Meanwhile, Pharr was balling out in the loss, rushing for 162 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry.

Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks on offense in their last three matchups, South Mecklenburg finally came back down to earth on Friday. They took a blow against Hough, falling 42-10. The contest marked the Sabres' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Garinger's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for South Mecklenburg, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-2.
