Basketball Recap: Kenneth Lipscomb and Ricco Gough Secure Win for Severn Run

It may have taken double overtime to finish the job, but Severn Run ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They snuck past the Broadneck Bruins with a 76-71 victory. This was payback for the Wolves, who suffered a 66-52 loss the last time these two teams met.

Severn Run was led to victory by Ricco Gough and Kenneth Lipscomb. Gough dropped a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds, while Lipscomb went 8-for-16 to rack up 21 points and five boards. Lipscomb's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Adamah, who shot 45% from the field en route to 11 points along with four steals and three blocks.

Severn Run's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-2. As for Broadneck, they moved to 3-2 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Severn Run and Broadneck will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Wolves see the court they'll take on Wheaton at 3:00 p.m. on the 29th. As for Broadneck, their break will end when they face Annapolis at 6:00 p.m. on January 6, 2026.
