Softball Recap: New Summerfield Takes a Loss

New Summerfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against the Apple Springs Eagles, falling 16-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-1 last Friday.

New Summerfield's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Apple Springs, their win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 6-6.

Looking ahead, New Summerfield will venture away from home to square off against Wells at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. New Summerfield has given up an average of 15.7 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Apple Springs, they will be playing at home against LEAD Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
