Baseball Recap: Timberland Comes Up Short

Timberland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 20-5 to the Andrews Yellowjackets. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wolves of the 11-5 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.

Timberland saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hugh Mitchum, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Mitchum also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Another was Greg Tumbleston, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI.

Even though they lost, Timberland was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

Timberland's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Andrews, the win got them back to even at 2-2-2.

While Timberland had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
