Soccer Game Preview: Clovis North vs. Clovis

The Clovis North Broncos will head out on the road to take on the Clovis Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Clovis better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when Clovis North really get things going. Clovis North was the clear victor by a 4-0 margin over Clovis East on Tuesday. Considering the Broncos have won eight games by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, for the first time since back in December of 2024, Clovis was forced to settle for a draw on Tuesday. They and Buchanan finished up their match with a 2-2 draw.

Chip Damian and Devon Richardson scored both of Clovis' goals, bringing their combined season tally to 16 goals.

Clovis North pushed their record up to 12-1-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those three contests. With that draw, Clovis' record moves to 12-4-4.

Clovis North beat Clovis 5-3 when the teams last played two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for Clovis North since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
