Softball Recap: Grafton Triumphs

Grafton saw some tournament action on Thursday. They came out on top against the Brighton Bruins by a score of 9-5. With that victory, the Bearcats brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Lillie Crimm made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two triples and one RBI. Those two triples gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Ruth Horne was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Karigan Wildroudt also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Grafton's record is now 7-5-1. As for Brighton, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Grafton didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 18-3 win against Preston on the 22nd. As for Brighton, they will face off against Hilton at 5:00 p.m. on the 25th.
