Softball Recap: Mount St. Dominic Academy Makes It 17 in a Row on the Road

Mount St. Dominic Academy barely beat Livingston the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Lions' pitchers stepped up to hand the Lancers a 12-0 shutout on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won five matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.

Mount St. Dominic Academy pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Livingston, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Mount St. Dominic Academy will take on West Essex at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. The Lions are facing the Knights at the right time seeing as the Knights are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Livingston, they are taking a road trip to square off against Columbia at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars' pitching crew has only allowed 1.4 runs per game this season, so the Lancers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
