Cardinal Mooney won the last time they faced St. Petersburg Catholic and things went their way on Monday too. The Cougars came out on top against the Barons by a score of 6-3. Those six runs were actually the fewest the Cougars have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Rocco Baer looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ben Todd, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI. JD James also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Cardinal Mooney kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Cardinal Mooney's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for St. Petersburg Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Cardinal Mooney will host Palmetto at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. Petersburg Catholic, they will head out to square off against Calvary Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
