Baseball Game Preview: Lincolnton Wolves vs. Newton-Conover Red Devils

The Lincolnton Wolves will head out on the road to take on the Newton-Conover Red Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lincolnton is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.

Lincolnton fell victim to Cherryville and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 13-0 to the Ironmen.

Lincolnton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Houser, who went 1-for-2 with one triple.

Meanwhile, Newton-Conover got themselves on the board against West Caldwell on Tuesday, but West Caldwell never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 11-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Red Devils, who have now won three games by ten runs or more so far this season.

The win made it two in a row for Newton-Conover and bumps their season record up to 5-5. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Lincolnton, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.

Lincolnton might still be hurting after the 12-1 defeat they got from Newton-Conover in their previous matchup on March 7th. Can Lincolnton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
