Baseball Recap: Dominican Has No Trouble Against Milwaukee Hamilton

Dominican never got on the board in their matchup on Thursday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Milwaukee Hamilton on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 16-4 margin over the Wildcats. Considering the Knights have won three matches by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Michael Perez-Cruz made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. Perez-Cruz was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 1-for-4. He has become a key player for Dominican: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 1-3 otherwise.

In other batting news, Dominican got a massive performance out of Xavier Parlier, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-4. Those two hits gave Parlier a new career-high. Jimmy Weiler was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing five bases.

Dominican's record now sits at 3-4. As for Milwaukee Hamilton, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Dominican didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 17-9 victory against St. John's Northwestern Military Academy on the 12th. As for Milwaukee Hamilton, they will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against Milwaukee Reagan at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
