The Fort Stockton Panthers will challenge the Pecos Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Fort Stockton's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Pecos has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
On Wednesday, Fort Stockton needed a bit of extra time to put away Monahans. They blew past the Loboes 11-3. Considering the Panthers have won six games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Rylan Nunez made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out ten batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in February. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-5 with one triple and one run.
In other batting news, Gerry Diaz was excellent, scoring a run while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances. Ayden H was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-6.
Fort Stockton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Pecos suffered their closest loss since February 22nd on Thursday. They fell just short of Andrews by a score of 8-6.
Noah Bueno and Idrick Montano did some serious damage despite the final result: Bueno scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Montano scored a run while going 3-for-3. Montano is becoming a predictor of Pecos' success: when he posts at least three hits the team is 2-1 (and 4-9 when he doesn't).
Pecos' defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Fort Stockton, their win bumped their record up to 11-7.
Friday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Fort Stockton hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .324. However, it's not like Pecos struggles in that department as they've averaged .384. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Fort Stockton took their victory against Pecos when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 14-7. Will Fort Stockton repeat their success, or does Pecos have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
