After losing to South Bend Riley the last time they met, Culver Academies decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Culver Academies Eagles narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the South Bend Riley Wildcats 51-48. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Eagles' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 116th, while the Wildcats are ranked 34th).

Culver Academies' win bumped their record up to 11-8. As for South Bend Riley, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Eagles take on the Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for South Bend Riley, they will be playing at home against Penn at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Penn will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something South Bend Riley surely won't give up without a fight.
