Soccer Game Preview: Gridley vs. Corning

The Gridley Bulldogs will square off against the Corning Cardinals at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

Gridley's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Live Oak, sneaking past 1-0. Given Gridley's advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 86th, while Live Oak are ranked 387th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last contest, Corning made sure to put some goals up on the board against Oroville on Tuesday. They blew past the Tigers 8-0. The result was nothing new for Corning, who have now won four matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

Corning's win bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Gridley, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.
