Softball Recap: Zwolle Comes Up Short

Zwolle came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 9-3 to the Quitman Wolverines. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hawks of the 9-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Zwolle's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-6. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Quitman, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-1.

Zwolle wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 7-1 loss against Airline on the 17th. As for Quitman, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 11-0 victory against Ruston on the 15th.
