Softball Recap: Patton Extends Winning Streak to Three

Patton had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 6-2 win over the Draughn Wildcats. This was a revenge game for the Panthers: when they faced off against the Wildcats last Monday, they had to take a 12-6 defeat.

Lexi Dale was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season. Another player making a difference was Ellie Shuping, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Patton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .391 or higher in three consecutive matches.

Patton's record now sits at 7-13. As for Draughn, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-7.

Patton has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Freedom on the 25th. As for Draughn, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 6-3 victory against East Burke on the 25th.
