Basketball Recap: Nash Central Takes a Loss

Nash Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They had to suffer through a 73-37 loss at the hands of the Bunn Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 52-46 back in January.

Bunn was led to victory by CJ Kearney and Josiah Rice. Kearney dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten assists, while Rice went 6 of 10 to rack up 20 points and seven boards. The dominant performance also gave Kearney a new career-high in shooting accuracy (70%). Isaac Bailey was another key player, going 6 for 9 on his way to 13 points and five rebounds.

Nash Central's defeat dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Bunn, their victory bumped their record up to 9-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nash Central won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Southeast Halifax at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Southeast Halifax is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.4 points per game this season. As for Bunn, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll challenge Roanoke Rapids at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
