Softball Recap: Nanuet Golden Knights vs. Nyack Red Hawks        
        
		
            
 Nanuet was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Thursday as the team picked up their 11th straight  defeat. They took  a  5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Nyack Red Hawks. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Nanuet of the  11-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in May of 2023.
 For Nyack's part,  Gianna Longo made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. Longo has been consistent recently: she hasn't  pitched less than five  innings every time she's  pitched this season. Longo was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-4.
 In other batting news,  Maeve O?Donnell was  incredible,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 4-for-4.  Yelina Arias was another key contributor,  going 1-for-3 with a  triple and two  RBI.
 Nanuet's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Nyack, the  victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-4.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nanuet will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Rye at 4:30  p.m.  on April 29th. As for Nyack, they will head out on the road to  challenge  Suffern at 2:00  p.m.  on Saturday. Nyack's pitching crew has only allowed four  runs per game  this season, so Suffern's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
