Preview: Trinidad Trojans vs. Avalon Eagles

Trinidad is 8-2 against Avalon since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Trinidad Trojans will look to defend their home court against the Avalon Eagles at 6:00 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Trinidad has struggled recently with six losses in a row, while Avalon will arrive with three straight wins.

Last Friday, Trinidad had to suffer through a rough 53-19 loss at the hands of Bynum.

Meanwhile, Avalon put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season last Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Penelope 48-7 at home. That 41 points margin sets a new team best for Avalon this season.

Avalon found their leader in underclassman Brooklyn De La Garza, who scored 25 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which De La Garza has scored at least a third of Avalon's points. Another player making a difference was Haley Zaidle, who scored 11 points.

Trinidad bumped their record down to 0-6 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Avalon, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Trinidad took a serious blow against Avalon in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 43-10. Will Trinidad have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get analysis of the match and other basketball content.
