Basketball Recap: Sumter Gamecocks vs. Cane Bay Cobras

The contest between the Gamecocks and the Cane Bay Cobras didn't end well, with the Gamecocks falling 71-57. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Gamecocks of the 54-46 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2025.
Leading Cane Bay to victory were Jamel McKinley and Jackson Lilly. McKinley shot 50% from the field en route to 14 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals, while Lilly posted 14 points. Sumter's defeat dropped their record down to 18-10. As for Cane Bay, they pushed their record up to 23-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.
