Softball Recap: Alto Extends Winning Streak to Six

Alto entered their tilt with Mt. Enterprise on Tuesday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They were the clear victors by a 15-3 margin over the Wildcats. Considering the Yellowjackets have won six matches by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Lacey Stephenson was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Stephenson was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Jenna Duplichain was incredible, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ashley Black, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Alto was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .320 or higher in five consecutive contests.

Alto's win bumped their record up to 8-3-1. As for Mt. Enterprise, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-4.

Alto will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wildcats: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
