Volleyball Recap: Richard Montgomery's Undefeated Season over After Three Games + How To Watch

Richard Montgomery was the 3-0 winner over Urbana when they last played one another back in November of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Rockets took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hawks on Thursday. The loss put an end to the Rockets' undefeated start to the season.

While Richard Montgomery had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 20 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 21-25, 25-23, 25-22.

Katie Mitchell paced Richard Montgomery's offense, picking up 18 kills. Mitchell got some help from Ellyn Kim and her 36 assists. Ellie Mitchell controlled things from the service line, finishing with seven aces.

Having lost for the first time this season, Richard Montgomery fell to 2-1. As for Urbana, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Richard Montgomery will venture away from home to square off against Kennedy at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Urbana, they will welcome Churchill at 6:45 p.m. on Monday.
