Basketball Game Preview: River Ridge Hawks vs. Mountain View Thunder

Having just played yesterday, the River Ridge Hawks will head out on the road to face off against the Mountain View Thunder at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Mountain View will be up against a hot River Ridge squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. River Ridge took their match on Friday with ease, bagging a 61-28 win over Kelso. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Hawks had established a 32 point advantage.

It was another big night for Brandi Stanford, who went 8-for-14 on her way to 19 points and six steals. Stanford is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Mya Armstrong, who posted 11 points and four steals.

River Ridge smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 13 consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Mountain View waltzed into their matchup on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They blew past the Raiders 59-39.

Mountain View pushed their record up to 15-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for River Ridge, their win bumped their record up to 19-6.
