Softball Recap: Troy Takes a Loss

If Troy was riding high fresh off their 17-1 takedown of Connally last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Troy Trojans fell 6-3 to the Grandview Zebras on Monday. The defeat continues a trend for the Trojans in their meetings with the Zebras: they've now lost four in a row.

Troy's loss dropped their record down to 12-4. As for Grandview, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 10-2.

Troy and Grandview should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Troy (ranked 41st) will meet West (ranked 414th) at 6:00 p.m. on March 18th. Troy's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so Grandview's hitters will have their work cut out for them. Meanwhile, Grandview will challenge Scurry-Rosser at 7:00 p.m. on March 18th up 566 places (50 vs. 616).
