Baseball Recap: Mildred Find Success

While Mildred's win against LaPoynor wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Flyers 2-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 15-0 last Tuesday.

The win made it two in a row for Mildred and bumps their season record up to 12-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for LaPoynor, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.

Mildred will venture away from home to face off against Cross Roads at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for LaPoynor, they have already played their next matchup, a 9-3 win against Wortham on the 8th.
