Baseball Recap: Hickory Flat Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After losing to Potts Camp the last time they met, Hickory Flat decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Rebels skirted past the Cardinals 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Rebels have posted against the Cardinals since February 25, 2021.

Liam Thrasher was excellent, earning one run and three stolen bases. Hickory Flat is 5-1 when Thrasher posts two or more stolen bases, but 1-13 otherwise.

Hickory Flat moved to 6-14 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Potts Camp, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Hickory Flat will head out to square off against Wheeler at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.85 runs per game on average), something the Rebels will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Potts Camp, they will head out on the road to face off against Falkner at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cardinals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season.
