Softball Game Preview: Dixie Flyers vs. Hurricane Tigers

For the second straight game, Dixie will face off against Hurricane. The Flyers will host the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Dixie has given up an average of 7.4 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Dixie is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Hurricane just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 11-7 to the Tigers.

For Hurricane's part, Addi Lauritzen was a standout: she scored two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave Lauritzen a new career-high in doubles (two). Ruby Seely was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Hurricane always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dixie only posted an OBP of .324.

Dixie's defeat dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Hurricane, their victory bumped their record up to 7-14.
