Basketball Recap: Lydia Mcgown and Payton Stienike Secure Win for Brady

Brady won the last time they faced Sandhills Valley and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Brady Eagles were the clear victor by a 51-26 margin over the Sandhills Valley Mavericks. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Leading Brady to victory were Payton Stienike and Lydia Mcgown. Stienike went 5-for-7 en route to 13 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals, while Mcgown posted 15 points and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Stienike a new career-high in field goal percentage (71%). Another player making a difference was Kenlee Fattig, who put up seven points and five boards.

Brady was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sandhills Valley only four assists.

Despite the loss, Sandhills Valley saw an underclassman step up: freshman Avery Weems earned 14 points and six rebounds.

Brady's win bumped their record up to 16-7. As for Sandhills Valley, they are on a 39-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-18.

Brady didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 53-39 victory against South Platte on the 20th. Sandhills Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
