Football Game Preview: Avon Lake Shoremen vs. Olmsted Falls Bulldogs

The Avon Lake Shoremen will venture away from home to square off against the Olmsted Falls Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Avon Lake has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 112 points over their last three games.

Avon Lake's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Elyria 42-0. The win continues a trend for the Shoremen in their matchups with the Pioneers: they've now won eight in a row.

Meanwhile, Olmsted Falls was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 20-16 to Steele. While the Bulldogs had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Comets 6-0.

The victory got Avon Lake back to even at 3-3. As for Olmsted Falls, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 3-3.

Avon Lake came up short against Olmsted Falls in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 43-37. Can the Shoremen avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
