Baseball Recap: Benson Bunnies vs. Bryan Bears
Benson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 31st straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 14-4 to the Bryan Bears. The Bunnies were not able to make up for their loss to the Bears from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.
Benson saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Muhammed Mukhlis, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. Damien Craft-Lemke also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.
Benson's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Bryan, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Benson will face off against South Sioux City at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Bryan, they will head out to face off against Omaha Northwest at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Huskies have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.6 runs per game on average), something the Bears will no doubt try to take advantage of.
