West Catholic dropped their record down to 14-6 on Friday, which also ended the team's nine-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Catholic Central Cougars by a score of 2-0. The match marked the first time this season in which the Falcons were not able to get on the board.

As for Catholic Central, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 24-0-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.7 runs over those games.

For Catholic Central's part, the result came thanks to A Owen's shutout, as she gave up just four hits. Owen has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, J Buchanan was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.

While West Catholic had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
