Soccer Game Preview: Stephenson vs. M.L. King

The Stephenson Jaguars will square off against the M.L. King Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with eight consecutive losses for Stephenson and seven for M.L. King.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Stephenson and Lithonia have met, but the home crowd finally got their W last Thursday. The Jaguars fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 7-6. Even if Stephenson couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their offense, which had struggled int the games prior.

Meanwhile, M.L. King came up short against Stone Mountain last Wednesday, falling 10-1.

Stephenson's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for M.L. King, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.

Stephenson came out on top in a nail-biter against M.L. King when the teams last played back in February of 2019, sneaking past 2-1. Will the Jaguars repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
