Recap: Pike Liberal Arts Patriots vs. Zion Chapel Rebels
The Pike Liberal Arts Patriots pushed their score all the way to 56 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 68-56 to Zion Chapel. While losing is never fun, Pike Liberal Arts can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 374th, while Zion Chapel is ranked 133rd).
Zion Chapel's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jacob Chestnut, who scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Slade Grantham, who scored 19 points along with five assists.
Pike Liberal Arts has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Zion Chapel, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pike Liberal Arts and Highland Home will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 4th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Zion Chapel, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Wicksburg at 7:00 p.m.
