Recap: Saginaw Rough Riders vs. Azle Hornets
The Saginaw Rough Riders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight defeat. They took a 42-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of Azle. Saginaw was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hornets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played on January 5th.
Several Rough Riders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tatum Stone, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds. Jazmine Duncan was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Saginaw has traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-19 record this season. As for Azle, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 17-14.
Saginaw will head out on the road to face off against the Pirates at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Granbury has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Azle, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bearcats at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Aledo presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Hornets in Texas (the Bearcats are ranked 128th, while the Hornets are ranked 478th).
