Basketball Recap: Liberty Comes Up Short

Liberty was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 55-51 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bellevue Wolverines. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 61st, while the Wolverines are ranked 20th).

Bellevue's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dilynn Johnson, who went 7 for 17 on her way to 25 points in addition to five boards and three steals. Johnson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Trinity Palmer-Wilson, who posted ten points and five steals.

Liberty's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Bellevue, they pushed their record up to 12-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home.

Liberty didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 39-34 win against Inglemoor on the 10th. As for Bellevue, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 58-50 victory against Juanita on the 10th.
