Saint Ignatius College Prep had to endure a 12-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the St. Rita Mustangs on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wolfpack have posted since March 29th.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Saint Ignatius College Prep got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 23-25, 25-18.

Ben Corbitt paced Saint Ignatius College Prep's offense, picking up ten kills. Corbitt got some help from Campbell Hahn and his 37 assists. Lucca Gambatese controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Saint Ignatius College Prep's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 8-25. As for St. Rita, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-22 record this season.

Saint Ignatius College Prep will take on Chicago Military Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. St. Rita does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
