Baseball Game Preview: Cahokia Comanches vs. Mt. Vernon Rams

Cahokia is 0-10 against Mt. Vernon since April of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. The Comanches will square off against the Rams at 4:30 p.m. Cahokia has given up an average of 13.5 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Cahokia lost 19-1 to Centralia two weeks ago.

Cahokia saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Martavious Norris, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Mt. Vernon didn't have quite enough to beat Graves County on Saturday and fell 6-5.

Maxwell Nowak put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off two hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That double was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Ryker Perigo made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Cahokia's record is now 1-10. As for Mt. Vernon, their record now sits at 10-9.

Cahokia suffered a grim 15-0 defeat to Mt. Vernon when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Can the Comanches avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
