Basketball Recap: Archbishop Bergan Triumphs

If Concordia wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Archbishop Bergan, they should've done a better job of containing Claire Mlnarik. The Archbishop Bergan Knights came out on top against the Concordia Mustangs by a score of 54-43 on Monday thanks in part to Mlnarik, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds. Those 18 points gave her a new career-high.

Mia Cortes was another key player, putting up five points and four steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last five games she's played.

Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Grace Samuelson, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine boards. Another player making a difference was Eliza Secrest, who posted ten points.

Archbishop Bergan's record is now 6-10. As for Concordia, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Archbishop Bergan didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 67-19 loss against Lincoln Christian on the 28th. As for Concordia, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 32-20 win against Lincoln Lutheran on the 30th.
